A great way to get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors is to go running, biking, or take a long walk. But how do you know exactly how far you've traveled?

There is a helpful website that can help you determine just how far you've gone and how many calories you've burned. And it's completely free. First, go to www.mapmyrun.com

You'll create an account and then enter your starting location. A map will pop up.Use the "point" tool and begin clicking on the map, following your route.

And with one click, you can also see the elevation. You can track the information in your account online to see how many calories you've burned. What is also helpful about this program is information and running routes can be made private, so no one else can see.

You can also search for a good place to run by typing in a city. It gives a list of locations that other people have mapped.

www.USATrackandField.com and www.favoriterun.com are two other websites with similar services.
