Waldenbooks Closing Stores

WSIL-TV- There is some bad news for 1,500 people employed at Waldenbooks stores across the country.

The Borders Group says it will close 200 Waldenbooks stores in January to make the chain smaller and more profitable.

Among those slated to close is the store inside Illinois Centre Mall in Marion.

The closings will leave only 150 stores still in business.

The company says the closing will not affect any Borders super stores.
