Nick is the weekday morning meteorologist at News 3. He joined WSIL in June of 2011 soon after graduating from the University of Missouri. He’s no stranger to the different varieties of weather in the Mid-Mississippi and Lower Ohio Valley growing up just a short distance away in Festus, Missouri. Before becoming a part of the News 3 Weather Team, he gained valuable knowledge at KOMU along with an internship at KPLR in St. Louis. As part of the Mizzou Storm Chase Team, he even witnessed an EF-5 tornado in Oklahoma in 2011.
Nick strives to do more than just show the weather, but loves to inform and teacher viewers about the “how” and “why” of our weather. He holds the prestigious American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist distinction, recognizing his outstanding communication skills and knowledge of the weather.
While his first passion is weather, Nick is often spending time in the outdoors, hiking or duck and goose hunting with his family.
Nick is proud to call Southern Illinois home alongside his wife Hilary, daughter Harper, two dogs Jaxson and Jet, and cat Peaches.
