WSIL — April is ‘Active Dog Month’, so we’re offering up three ways to save on your four-legged friends.
1. Shop around for dog food. Many times stores or manufactures will offer coupons or rebates online. Also, remember the most expensive doesn’t mean it’s the best. Buy in bulk when possible.
2. Keep your dog healthy. Make sure they’re staying active by going on daily walks, don’t overfeed them with treats and table scraps and brush their teeth often.
3. Create your own toys. Cut a rope into pieces and use as a tug-of-war toy or stuff an old sock with a plastic bottle. If your kids have old stuffed animals they’ve outgrown, give them a second chance with your dog.
