Rain has moved out, summer-like late this week

CARTERVILLE (WSIL) — The rain has moved out for the day, but it may take a little while for the sunshine to break through this afternoon. Clouds look likely through much of the afternoon east of I-57 with more sun closer to the Mississippi River. Under the clouds, temperatures will struggle to get out of the 60s, while low to mid 70s are expected where the sun breaks out.

The big story through the rest of the week is the rise on the mercury as we see the first upper 80s of the season later this week.

Storm chances return later this week with more unsettled weather next week.

Chief meteorologist Jim Rasor will have the latest on the warm up and the next storm chances tonight on News 3.
