ST. LOUIS (AP) – A 30-year-old Illinois man is charged with assault after his new wife died after falling from the seventh floor of a parking garage near Busch Stadium.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Bradley Jenkins, of Taylorville, Illinois, was charged Monday with third-degree domestic assault, a felony, in the death of 27-year-old Allissa Martin after Saturday’s Cardinals-Cubs baseball game. They both worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Police found Martin’s cellphone on the seventh floor of the garage with its video camera still rolling. Detective Mark West said in a probable cause statement that the recording showed Martin and Jenkins arguing. West said after Martin dropped the phone, she could be heard on the recording screaming as she fell.
The investigation is continuing. Jenkins is being held on $100,000 cash-only bond.
