Benton opens season with win at Carbondale

CARBONDALE — The Benton Rangerettes and Carbondale Terriers took turns dominating their volleyball season opener, but the Rangerettes held on late to take a three-sets win.

The Rangerettes got rolling in the opening game, taking it 25-12.

The Terriers came out firing in game two, jumping out to 6-0 and 11-2 leads.  They took game two 25-14 to set up the decisive game three.

Benton made enough plays down the stretch to pick up the season-opening road win, 25-20 in the third.
