Murphysboro gets win against Massac County

MURPHYSBORO (WSIL) — Murphysboro dropped its season-opener to unbeaten Carbondale — but won its next two.

Friday’s game between the Red Devils and Massac County was delayed an hour by lightning.

When it finally got underway, Murphysboro’s Zane Carraway scored on a 29-yard run to give the Red Devils a 6-nothing lead.

In the second quarter, Murphysboro running back Dezmond Clark broke tackles and rambled 66 yards for a touchdown, and the Red Devils beat the Patriots 27-0 to improve to 3-1.

Massac County is 0-4.
