HURST, Ill. — On Saturday, members of the Hurst ambulance service delivered meals to those in need around the community.
The service is a tradition dating back more than 20 years.
"This is what binds us together," says Greg Hurst, director of the ambulance service. "In this day and age there is so much individualism, but this is a time we can come together and we can make a difference in our community."
Donations for the food baskets are gathered throughout the year by local businesses.
Altogether, the group was able to provide the ingredients to a holiday meal to 20 local families.
