Mules remain unbeaten headed into playoffs

ELDORADO (WSIL) — Playoff-bound Fairfield closed out the regular season in Eldorado.

The Eagles were hoping to pull off the upset and clinch a playoff berth of their own.

Midway through the first, Eldorado’s Jacob Etienne breaks tackles and runs for 15 yards, giving the Eagles a first and goal. One play later, Etienne finishes the job and is in for the touchdown.

Eldorado leads 6-0.

With under a minute left in the first quarter, Fairfield’s Kaleb Wells takes it in from the 5 yard line to tie the score at 6.

Late in the second, it’s Wyatt Gilbert taking it in, untouched, from the 15 to score for the Mules.

Fairfield would lead 14-6 at the end of the half and go on to win 35-13.

The Mules head into the playoffs unbeaten.
