WARE (WSIL) -- On January 11th a strong storm system moved through the region wreaking havoc across the Tri-state area. Damaging winds, flooding and multiple tornadoes occurred.
The National Weather Service of Paducah sent a survey team to Ware IL, in Union County, confirming an EF-1 tornado touched down at 2:02 AM. The tornado traveled 0.9 miles with peak winds near 100 miles an hour.
No injuries or fatalities occurred but larges tree limbs were snapped and uprooted. Multiple homes and property within the path of the storm were also damaged.
The National Weather Service also confirmed an EF-2 tornado touched down in Jackson, MO traveling 9.7 miles with peak winds near 125 miles an hour at 1:42 AM. No injuries or fatalities occurred but trees and property were damaged.
