STEELEVILLE (WSIL) -- There's an opportunity for those with special needs in our region to get a job.
Gilster-Mary Lee is hiring workers with Autism, or those with other neurodiverse disorders, who may have a hard time finding a job.
The company is looking to fill various positions at its pasta plant in Steeleville.
Gilster-Mary Lee teamed up with Autism Workforce for this new program.
Autism Workforce works with companies to recruit, hire and work with those who have autism and provides training.
“Working with Autism Workforce and IMEC has revealed a number of positions that may be ideal for individuals with ASD," said Tom Welge, VP of Technical Sales at Gilster-Mary Lee. "They will be providing the training and job design for both the individuals and the team members that will be working with this new workforce.”
Those interested can tour the plant and meet leaders from Gilster-Mary Lee and Autism Workforce Thursday, January 23rd.
