Man arrested after police chase, carjacking

Kevin Jobe Mug

SIKESTON, MO (WSIL) -- Deputies from multiple counties chased a suspect through southeast Missouri on Sunday.

It started in Sikeston around 9:15 a.m. when Kevin R. Jobe, 23, sped away as an officer attempted to stop his Toyota Camry.

Jobe then drove into Mississippi County and crashed his car.

A driver stopped to check on the crash and Jobe forced her back into a her pickup and started to drive away. Investigators say Jobe then pushed that woman out of the truck. She ended up with a broken ankle and had to be flown to a St. Louis hospital.

On Monday Cape Girardeau police tracked down that stolen truck and took Jobe into custody.

He's facing resisting arrest, driving while revoked and failure to stop at a stop sign (times 20) charges.

Other agencies involved in the chase may file charges against Jobe as well.

Note: A previous version of this story listed Jobe's age as 19. An updated release from Sikeston DPS corrected his age to 23.
