CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- On the plus side, it's not quite as cold Tuesday morning as it has been the last few mornings. Temperatures are still in the upper 10s with wind chills running around 15º to start the day, so pack along a heavy coat.
Some sunshine is expected Tuesday afternoon bringing temperatures back above freezing for the first time since Saturday evening.
Quiet weather sticks around through Wednesday, but we're always tracking the next storm system which is set to arrive Thursday.
Initially, we could see a mix of freezing rain over parts of Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois early Thursday morning, but at this point, a switch over to a cold rain is expected.
Rain then may switch back to light snow on Friday.
Meteorologist Nick Hausen is also tracking milder weather by the end of the weekend on News 3 This Morning. We've got you covered!
