CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- The cold rain has come to an end, but Arctic air arrives this morning. A strong cold front will sweep across the region taking early morning temperatures in the low to mid 30s back into the upper 20s by the afternoon. In addition to the cold air, the wind will make it feel even colder. Afternoon wind chills will dip back into the teens.
The coldest temperature we've had this season at the station is 9º which occurred back in the first half of November. Temperatures will be very close to that Friday morning. A breeze will make it "feel like" zero. Brrr! Dig out those heated blankets tonight!
Happy Valentine's Day Friday! Sunshine will return, but the afternoon temperature will only peak in the upper 20s.
