MARION (WSIL) -- Finding Forever Animal Rescue celebrated its new location with a grand opening on Saturday.
Becca Baird, Executive Director, says the rescue and thrift store was operating out of her property and then moved to a rented building.
However, the organization outgrew the rented space and, after three years, was able to buy their own building at 1117 E main street.
"We're really thankful to have raised money to purchase this building and kind of expand and move on," she says. "We've had a lot of volunteers putting in a lot of effort and we're excited to be here."
The organization takes in an array of donated items for its thrift store, in order to help the animals.
"Everything here is donated and we accept knick knacks, to furniture, books, clothing, a little bit of everything," Braid explains. "And all the proceeds go back to our animals."
The animal rescue operates completely on donations and makes sure each dog and cat is ready for their forever home.
That includes everything from the spaying and neutering, shots, microchip and vaccinations.
So far this year, 25 animals have been adopted.
