CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- Castle Perilous Games & Books is a staple of the city and hit a milestone.
The small business celebrated 30 years in the community with a special anniversary event.
For those who came out to celebrate, a limited number of gift bags were given away with free comics, a free board game and other free goodies.
The Humane of Southern Illinois was also in attendance and brought along some dogs up for adoption.
One of those includes Wova, a 3-year-old spayed Stafford/pit bull mix, who loves people and gets along well with other dogs.
Anyone who donated $10 to the humane society was entered into a raffle for a $1000 worth of merchandise and received a 20% off coupon.
In another effort to give back to the community even more, a food drive for the Good Samaritan House was also taking place.
Castle Perilous opened in 1990 and touts " The largest game store in southern Illinois."
According to its website, the store has more than100 different role-playing games, 200 different board games, comic books, Yu Gi Oh, Pokemon and more.
