Police officer fired after child porn arrest

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (WSIL) -- A school resource officer in Poplar Bluff is now in jail accused of having child pornography and sex trafficking.

Poplar Bluff police say they got a tip about officer Brandon Hopper on Wednesday. They fired him on Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol took over the investigation and arrested Hopper.

According to the Daily American Republic newspaper investigators found child porn on Hopper's phone.

A MSHP press release only says investigators seized child pornography and electronic equipment as evidence.

Investigators also arrested a second suspect Amber M. Longhibler, 28, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri on Thursday.

Hopper was charged with sexual trafficking of a child, promoting child pornography, and two counts of possession of child pornography.

Longhibler was charged with sexual trafficking of a child, promoting child pornography, and four counts of possession of child pornography.

Hopper and Longhibler are currently being held without bond
