CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- The Carterville girls came up short in the 2A semifinal to Marshall (Chicago) 63-54.

On the boys side, Class 1A and 2A held regional championships.

Class 2A

Carson Lewis scored 27 points to lead Benton past Fairfield 58-45.

Top seeded Nashville advances by crushing Althoff Catholic 52-27.

Tuesday 7 PM, the three seed Benton takes on the one seed Nashville in the 2A Sectional Semifinal from Hamilton County High School.

In the closing seconds Calvon Clemons hit a shot to help Murphysboro stun Pinckneyville 50-48 at the buzzer.

The 4 seed Mt. Carmel ends top seeded Massac County's season 51-44.

In the other 2A Sectional Semifinal, it will be a 4-3 match-up with a trip to the sectional finals at stake.

Wednesday at 7 o'clock Murphysboro will meet MT. Carmel
from Hamilton County High School.

Class 1A

Goreville rolls past Pope County 66-37. Landon Albright led the Blackcats with 18 points.

In the two-three match-up, Okawville wins the 1A Steeleville Regional 52-33 over Marissa-Coulterville.

Goreville will face Okawville Wednesday 7 o'clock from Norris City (NCOE Sectional Semifinal).

At the Cobden Regional Final, the Appleknockers take the title. Cobden holds off Cairo 55-43.

One-Five Matchup from the Edwards County Regional Final and top seeded Woodlawn takes down Wayne City 52-32.

Class 3A

Mt Vernon spoils Marion's senior night 69-64.

Jackson Connor is coming off a 44 point performance and entered just 61 points shy of breaking Greg Starrick's career scoring record at Marion.

Connor would finish with 27, putting him just 34 points away from breaking the schools record.

Quani Rudd was a one man highlight reel. coming up big on play after play.

He would finish the game with 26 points for the Rams.

Carbondale need double overtime to beat Centralia 75-67 on senior night.
