MARION (WSIL) -- More than three dozen Marion employees are being furloughed due to a lack of revenue.
The furloughs impact employees at facilities like The Hub, Civic Center and the city's library because those places rely on patron dollars that aren't coming in.
Mayor Mike Absher says 43 employees in total were furloughed but not terminated. Absher says employee benefits, like health insurance, will continue to be covered.
Support staff at city hall are included in the furloughs, as well as workers at the Marion Pavilion.
