CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- There are five animals, including three cats and one dog, up for adoption in this edition of Pets of the Week.
Artemis stands out for his unique haircut. Artemis is a two-year-old Domestic Long Haired kitty who does well with respectful cats but prefers to have his own space to relax. He is affectionate and looking for love.
You can get to know him at the Humane Society of Southern Illinois in Murphysboro.
Are you looking for a cat that is always happy to see you, gives kisses, and craves being petted? You can meet one of the newest felines at the Perry County Humane Society, Howie. The handsome 1-year-old gray and white cat can be a bit timid for a few seconds until you touch him and then lookout. He's still learning to be a kitten with toys and is mastering the litter box. He also does not like dogs and prefers not to be carried around for longer than a minute or two. For more on Howie, call the shelter in Du Quoin.
Snook is a two-year-old cat full of spunk. She is ready for a new home and someone to play with. You can call the Wayne County Humane Society in Fairfield to adopt her.
A well-mannered dog was found in Marion but never claimed, so she is up for adoption at Finding Forever Animal Rescue in Marion.
Pretty Boy is about 3-to-4 years-old and was abandoned. He's still got a lot of puppy in him and looking for an active family that loves to play and run. He still needs a little work on walking and training. If you're interested in Pretty Boy, make an appointment with Herrin Animal Control.
