SPRINGFIELD (WSIL) – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 2,268 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, including 87 additional deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 102,686 cases, including 4,607 deaths, in 100 counties in Illinois.
In southern Illinois, new cases were reported Thursday in Jackson and Williamson counties.
Four people in Jackson County - two men and two women each in their 20s - tested positive. That brings the total number of confirmed cases in Jackson County to 195, including ten deaths.
In Williamson County, a woman in her 90s was confirmed to have COVID-19. There have been a total of 56 COVID-19 cases in Williamson County.
