Isolated storms for the holiday weekend

(WSIL) -- Hot, humid air is moving into the region and will make it feel more like the Memorial Day weekend.

There should be plenty of dry hours to allow us to get outside, but isolated thunderstorms are possible through the period.

Organized severe weather is not expected locally. Any storms that do pop up will be capable of producing locally heavy rain, dangerous lightning and gusty winds.

This is a good time to have the Storm Track 3 app on your smartphone to keep up with forecast adjustments, radar, lightning and any advisories that might be posted.

I will have the latest forecast updates on News 3 this evening.
