Jackson County reports 9 additional COVID-19 cases

JACKSON COUNTY (WSIL) -- The Jackson County Health Department is reporting that 9 additional residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

Those cases are as follows:

  • Female – one preteen/teen, two in their twenties, two in their forties, and one in her sixties.
  • Male – two preteen/teen, and one in his fifties.

These individuals acquired the disease either through close contact with a known case, or through transmission in the community and are being placed in isolation.

As of May 25, there have been 234 laboratory confirmed cases in Jackson County, including ten deaths related to the disease.

According to health officials 171 people have been released from isolation.

Currently, 53 active cases are being managed.
