At 70 V-F-W Lane off old Route 51 near Anna, there will be a Memorial Day service at 11 this morning. Those who plan to attend are asked to bring lawn chair or to be prepared to stand for the service.

The 242 crosses that represent those men and women are new this year and are part of a renovation the City and volunteers worked to complete in time for Memorial Day.

Several speakers will take the stage one at a time during the ceremony including Mayor John McPeek and State Senator Dale Fowler.

The ceremony is open to anyone who wishes to attend, but they are asked to follow social distancing guidelines.

The event will start at 10 a.m. at Arlington Little Cemetery inside of Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
