CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- Can we call it typical "Memorial Day weather"? Warm, humid, and a chance for afternoon thunderstorms.
Monday will be quite warm in the afternoon with temperatures likely in the upper 80s and combined with the humidity, heat indices will be running in the lower 90s.
Much like Sunday, a few scattered showers and storms are likely Monday afternoon, especially during the heat of the day. I wouldn't cancel plans over the storm chance, but be sure there is a place to seek shelter quickly if a storm pops up. Main threats will be very heavy rain and a lot of lightning. A couple stronger storms could also produce gusty winds.
Meteorologist Nick Hausen is tracking more storm chances this week. Be sure to tune in for the latest on News 3 This Morning. We've got you covered!
