CAMPBELL HILL (WSIL) -- Campbell Hill Fire Department says they've taken a financial hit due to COVID-19.
Department leaders have canceled two of their major fundraisers so far this year.
Since the department is all volunteer, the funds raised usually go toward operational expenses, like vehicle maintenance and new equipment.
"Until we know what the guidelines are going to be moving forward, we don't really know if we're going to be able to continue operations. So, we're kind of looking to see if there's going to be any relief funding for us, either at the state or the federal level," said Ray Hunter with the Campbell Hill Fire Department.
Hunter says he doesn't expect the department to shut down any time soon, but he is concerned about having to raise dues.
