WILLIAMSON COUNTY (WSIL) -- The Illinois Trucking Association (ITA) is providing 500 free lunches for truck drivers on Wednesday, May 27.

The meals will be given out at the IDOT weigh station on Interstate 57 northbound in Marion. ITA partnered with the Illinois State Police and Illinois Department of Transportation for the free box lunches as a way to say thank you for all their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic. The lunches will be handed to professional truck drivers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Several local members of the Illinois Trucking Association are donating the lunches, including Thomason Express, Clemens Insurance, Pepsi MidAmerica, Beelman Truck Co, PrePass, TKM Materials, NOTS Logistics, and Black Diamond Harley Davidson.
