(WSIL) -- Heat index values will again climb into the triple digits, but rain will bring some a break from the heat this afternoon.
Overall moisture for thunderstorm activity looks to be more widespread today. I will still categorize the chance for storms as "hit and miss" for most, but the chance for storms will blanket the entire area. Similar to yesterday, these storms will pop up quickly, and produce locally heavy rain, before drifting away.
Better rain chances, and a small cool down is headed our way for Monday. I'll have more information on that on News 3 at 6 a.m. Meteorologist Jacie Brianne will also be back tonight to track these storms, and update you on your forecast.
