(WSIL) -- It will still feel like summer after today's cold front passes, but we may get a small break from the heat.
High temperatures today will likely reach high 80s if not low 90s before the front arrives. Temperatures in the coming days will likely be capped in the mid 80s. Today's cold front will also bring the chance for thunderstorms this afternoon. The chance for heavier rainfall will be best in the northwest and diminish southward as some guidance suggests overall weakening of activity as the front progresses southward. Still, rain chances are likely are wide today.
I'll have more information coming up on News 3 This Morning, and Chief Meteorologist, Jim Rasor, will be back tonight.
