(WSIL) -- A Marion High School football program member has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Marion High School athletic department sent out the following tweet on Wednesday, July 29, just after 1:00 in the afternoon.

The announcement came just one hour after the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) released its plan for sports during the 2020-21 season.

Certain fall sports, including football, boy's soccer and girls volleyball, have now shifted to the spring.

Still, all football activities in Marion have been suspended until further notice.
