(WSIL) -- The boundary between hot humid air and cooler air is right on top of us. The mixing of the hot and cold produces lots of clouds and more showers and storms. This pattern is expected to be over or near the region through the weekend. Afternoon temperatures will run cooler than normal but drizzle, sprinkles, showers and some storms will be with us all weekend.
We do see a chance for a real break from high humidity next week but a second cold front will have to clear the region. That cold front will bring more chances for rain locally early next week.
I will have the latest forecast updates on News 3 this evening.
