Jackson County remains on IDPH warning list

Update: Randolph County reported 7 additional cases late in the evening on August 1. The health department did not specify genders or ages for these individuals.

To date, there have been 433 confirmed cases in the county, including 7 deaths. Of these, 39 individuals are recovering at home and 387 individuals have been released to resume normal activity.

This brings the total cases reported by health departments for the region to 43.


(WSIL) -- Health Departments in southern Illinois are reporting 36 new cases of the virus Saturday.

These cases are across Franklin, Jackson, Saline, White and Williamson counties.

Franklin County:

  • Females: Two in their 30’s
  • Males: One in their 20’s, two in their 30’s, and one in their 50’s

To date, there have been 124 laboratory confirmed positives in Franklin county of COVID-19. Of these positives, 59 have recovered.

Jackson County:

  • Females: One under 10, one teen, four in their 20's, and two in their 30's
  • Males: One under 10, five in their 20's, one in 30's, one in his 40's, one in his 50's, and one in 60's

The Jackson County Health Department reports that its had 631 confirmed, including 19 related deaths. Health official say 15 individuals have been released from isolation today, bringing total released in accordance with CDC guidance to 459. Currently, 153 cases remain active.

Saline County:

  • Female: One in her 40’s, at home and in isolation
  • Male: One in his 20’s, at home and in isolation

To date, Saline County has had a total of 105 lab confirmed positives, including 1 death.

White County:

  • Female: One in her 60’s, at home and in isolation

According to the Egyptian Health Department, White County has had a total of 58 lab-confirmed positives.

Williamson County:

  • Females: One in their 20’s, and one in their 40’s
  • Males: Three teenagers, two in their 20’s, and two in their 50’

To date, there have been a total of 320 laboratory confirmed positives in Williamson county including five deaths related to the virus. Of these positive cases, 175 have recovered in Williamson County.

Illinois Department of Public Health:

Health officials announced 1,639 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease, including 8 additional confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 180,476 cases, including 7,503 deaths, in 102 counties.
