MURPHYSBORO (WSIL) -- We have been trying to help some of our furry friends find their 'Furever Homes'.
You may recognize one of the dogs. Remember Foxy?
She was featured in a 'Furever Homes' segment and inspired one of our latest 'Unsung Heroes' to help out.
Foxy was left in a backyard in a small crate and nearly starved to death.
Riley, an 11-year-old from Franklin County, raised more than $2,000 dollars for St. Francis CARE after hearing Foxy's story. Now Foxy has found a home.
"She's probably about 50 pounds so she has gained probably 30 pounds since we got her back. She's undergoing her heartworm treatment. She does have and adopter so she's going to be going to her forever home. Foxy is happy, healthy and doesn't even look like the same dog," said Diane Daugherty, President of the Board at St. Francis CARE.
