Bi-County Health: 65 new COVID-19 cases, 1 additional death

(WSIL) -- Sixteen counties in southern Illinois have reported new cases of COVID-19.

The largest amount of cases were reported by the Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department.

Late Thursday evening, Bi-County announced 19 new cases in Franklin County and 46 new cases in Williamson County. One death was also reported in Williamson County.

On Thursday, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 1,953 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, including 28 additional confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 255,643 cases, including 8,242 deaths, in Illinois.

ALEXANDER COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 60s
  • Male: One in his 60s

There have been 52 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Alexander County. Southern Seven Health Department says 11 cases are currently active.

FRANKLIN COUNTY

  • Females: Two teenagers, one in their 30s, two in their 40s, four in their 50s, two in their 60s, one in their 70s and one in their 90s
  • Males: One in their 20s, one in their 30s, one in their 40s, one in their 50s, one in their 60s, and one in their 70s

Late Thursday, Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department reported 19 new cases of COVID-19 in Franklin County.

To date, there have been 406 confirmed cases in the county, including one death. Of the positive cases, Bi-County says 271 have recovered.

HAMILTON COUNTY

  • One male in his 20s

There have been 54 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Hamilton County. The health department there says four people are currently isolating at home.

HARDIN COUNTY

  • One male in his 80s

There have been 24 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hardin County. Four of those cases are currently active, according to Southern Seven Health Department.

JACKSON COUNTY

  • Female: Three teens, seven in their 20s and one in her 70s
  • Male: Two in their 20s and two in their 50s

Jackson County Health Department reported 15 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday.

To date, there have been 1,121 confirmed cases in the county, including 24 related deaths. According to the department, 144 active cases are currently being managed.

JEFFERSON COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 80s
  • Male: One in his 40s

Jefferson County has had 523 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 31 deaths. Health officials say 26 active cases are currently in isolation.

JOHNSON COUNTY

  • Male: One under 5, one in his 20s and two in their 40s

There have been 138 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Johnson County. Southern Seven Health Department says 42 cases are currently active.

MASSAC COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 40s
  • Male: One in 10s and one in his 50s

Massac County has had 77 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death. According to Southern Seven Health Department, 26 cases are currently active.

PERRY COUNTY

  • One female in her 40s

There have been 314 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 14 deaths, in Perry County. The health department says 24 cases are currently active.

PULASKI COUNTY

  • Male: One under 5 and one in his 20s

There have been 22 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pulaski County, including one death. Twenty-five cases are currently active.

RANDOLPH COUNTY

  • Two new cases for Thursday, Sept. 10

Randolph County health officials say one of the two new cases is an offender at Menard Correctional Center.

Randolph County has had 821 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including eight deaths. Seventy-four cases are currently active. Thirty-nine of those are Menard offenders.

SALINE COUNTY

  • Female: One in her teens, one in her 20s, one in her 30s and one in her 70s
  • Male: One in his teens

According to Egyptian Health Department, Saline County has had 199 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including three deaths.

UNION COUNTY

  • Female: One in 10s and one in her 60s
  • Male: One under 5

Union County has had 443 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 20 deaths. Southern Seven Health Department says 63 cases are currently in active.

WAYNE COUNTY

Wednesday, September 9

  • Female: Three in their 40s, two in their 50s and one in her 70s
  • Male: One in his teens, one in his 20s, one in his 50s, one in his 70s and one in his 80s

Thursday, September 10

  • Female: One teen, one in her 20s and one in her 40s
  • Male: One child and two in their 60s

Late Wednesday evening, the Wayne County Health Department announced 11 new cases of COVID-19. Late Thursday, the department announced six more cases.

The county has had 166 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including two deaths. Six people are currently hospitalized, while 48 others are isolating at home.

WHITE COUNTY

  • Female: One in her teens
  • Male: One under the age of 10

Egyptian Health Department says both individuals are at home in isolation. There have been 147 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in White County.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY

  • Female: One 10 and under, four teenagers, four in their 20s, seven in their 30s, three in their 40s, four in their 50s, one in their 60s, three in their 70s and two in their 80s
  • Male: One child under 5, one teenager, two in their 20s, four in their 30s, two in their 40s, five in their 60s, one in their 70s and one in their 80s

In addition to 46 new cases of COVID-19, Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department also reported one additional death.

The health department says a woman in her 70s from a long-term care facility in the county passed away.

To date, there have been 1,142 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county, including 27 deaths.

Bi-County says 656 of the positive cases have recovered.
