20+ new COVID-19 cases in Jackson, Randolph counties

(WSIL) -- Health departments in Jackson and Randolph counties each announced more than 20 new cases of COVID-19 Friday.

Randolph County had 27 new cases, while Jackson had 21.

Jackson County was also one of 30 Illinois counties at the Illinois Department of Public Health's "warning level" for COVID-19 Friday.

“This warning helps to amplify the continued need to practice social distancing, wear face coverings, stay home when you are ill, and to cooperate with public health officials when they contact you during contact tracing efforts,” said Bart Hagston, administrator for the Jackson County Health Department.

Williamson County also appeared on the warning list for the fourth week in a row.

ALEXANDER COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 70s
  • Male: One in his 30s and one in his 50s

There have been 55 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Alexander County. Southern Seven Health Department sas 13 cases are currently active.

FRANKLIN COUNTY

  • Female: One in their 20s and one in their 40s

Franklin County has had 408 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death. Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department says 271 of the positive cases have recovered.

JACKSON COUNTY

  • Female: Three teens and two in their 20s
  • Male: Two teens, 11 in their 20s, two in their 30s and one in his 50s

Jackson County Health Department reported 21 new cases of COVID-19 Friday.

To date, there have been 1,142 confirmed cases in the county, including 24 related deaths. Health officials say 143 active cases are currently being managed.

JEFFERSON COUNTY

  • Female: One under 13, two in their 30s, one in her 40s and two in their 50s

Jefferson County has had 529 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 31 deaths. The health department says 32 active cases are currently in isolation.

MASSAC COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 50s
  • Male: One in his 50s

There have been 79 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Massac County. Of the positive cases, Southern Seven Health Department says 27 are currently active.

RANDOLPH COUNTY

  • 27 new cases for Friday, Sept. 11

Randolph County officials reported 27 new cases of COVID-19 Friday. Two of those new cases were offenders at Menard Correctional Center.

Randolph County has had 847 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including eight deaths. Currently, there are 84 active cases, 36 of which are Menard offenders.

SALINE COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 30s
  • Male: One under the age of 10, one teen, one in his 20s, two in their 30s and two in their 50s

Egyptian Health Department reported eight new cases of COVID-19 in Saline County Friday. The health department says all of the individuals are at home in isolation.

There have been 206 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including three deaths, in Saline County. Egyptian Health Department says one case previously reported Wednesday has been transferred to another health department.

UNION COUNTY

  • Female: Three in their 60s
  • Male: One in his 40s, two in their 50s and one in his 70s

Union County has had 450 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 20 deaths. Southern Seven Health Department says 67 cases are currently active.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY

  • Female: Three in their 20s, two in their 40s, one in their 60s and one in their 70s
  • Male: One in their 20s, one in their 30s, one in their 40s and one in their 50s

To date, Williamson County has had 1,153 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 27 deaths. Health officials say, of the positive cases, 656 have recovered.
