12 southern Illinois counties report new COVID-19 cases

(WSIL) -- Twelve southern Illinois counties reported new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday.

Williamson County had the most with 19 new cases, followed closely by Randolph County with 18.

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced Tuesday 1,466 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, including 20 additional confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 264,210 cases, including 8,332 deaths, in Illinois.

ALEXANDER COUNTY

  • One female in her 30s

There have been 60 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Alexander County, including one death. Southern Seven Health Department says 17 cases are currently active.

FRANKLIN COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 30s, one in her 70s and two in their 80s
  • Male: Two in their 20s and one in his 70s

Bi-County Health reported seven new cases of COVID-19 in Franklin County Tuesday. To date, there have been 439 confirmed cases in the county, including one death.

Of the positive cases, Bi-County says 292 have recovered.

HARDIN COUNTY

  • One male in his 50s

There have 27 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hardin County. Six of the cases are currently active.

JACKSON COUNTY

  • Female: Two teens, one in her 40s, one in her 60s and one in her 70s

There have been 1,174 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 24 related deaths, in Jackson County. The health department says 107 active cases are currently being managed.

JEFFERSON COUNTY

  • Female: One teen, one in her 50s and one in her 70s
  • Male: One teen

Jefferson County has had 557 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 31 deaths. The health department says 46 active cases are currently in isolation.

MASSAC COUNTY

  • Female: One in 10s
  • Male: One in his 20s

Massac County has had 86 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death. Southern Seven Health Department says 31 of the cases are currently active.

PERRY COUNTY

  • Two males in their 30s

In addition to two new cases of COVID-19, the Perry County Health Department also reported one additional death.

The health department says a woman in her 70s passed away.

To date, there have been 327 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 15 deaths. Health officials say 24 cases are currently active.

PULASKI COUNTY

  • One female in her 40s

There have been 148 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pulaski County, including one death. Eighteen cases are currently active.

RANDOLPH COUNTY

  • 18 new cases for Tuesday, Sept. 15

There have been 894 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 11 deaths, in Randolph County.

Currently, 91 cases are active. Twenty-five of those are inmates at Menard Correctional Center.

SALINE COUNTY

  • Female: One under the age of 10 and one in her 30s
  • Male: One in his 20s, one in his 40s, one in his 50s and one in his 70s

Egyptian Health Department reported six new COVID-19 cases in Saline County Tuesday, bringing the county's current total to 226 cases, including three deaths.

WHITE COUNTY

  • One male in his teens

Egyptian Health Department says the teen is at home in isolation. White County has had 153 confirmed cases of COVID-19. One case previously reported Monday was transferred to another health department.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY

  • Female: One child under 10, one in her 70s, three in their 80s and four in their 90s
  • Male: Two teens, two in their 30s, one in his 40s, three in their 60s, one in his 70s and one in his 90s

Williamson County had 19 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday. To date, there have been 1,226 confirmed cases, including 28 deaths, in the county.

Health officials say, of the positive cases, 714 have recovered.
