CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Two men have been arrested in Florida on murder charges for the August shooting death of Jamonte Allison, Sr.

Jamonte Allison's mother says the arrests of the men apparently responsible for her son's death is bittersweet.

DeVale Johnson of Carbondale and Victor Purdiman of Paducah are behind bars after weeks of investigating Allison's murder. The Interim Carbondale Police Chief Stan Reno said they not able to release detailed information since they are in the middle of their investigation, but Chief Reno confirmed that Johnson and Purdiman were arrested on Tuesday in Orange County Florida.

The victim mother Candice Wilson said she would attend each trial.

"Justice, it won't bring my son back, but at least they won't be able to kill anymore," said Wilson.

"We are working with the state's attorneys office, as well as with the Jackson County State's Attorney to put together the best case possible to assist them with the prosecution of the suspects," said Chief Reno.

Bond is set for one million dollars for Johnson and Purdiman. Other charges Johnson and Purdiman may face include Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.

Police said Jamonte Allison, Sr. died at Memorial Hospital on August 17 from multiple gunshot wounds.

Jackson County State's Attorney, Michael Carr, released a statement on the charges against Johnson and Purdiman. See it here.
