PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- Paducah police are asking for your help with finding a man accused of firing a handgun into the home of his ex-girlfriend. Police said that shooting happened just before one Thursday morning at an apartment complex on Lone Oak Road.
A report from the Paducah Police Department said 25-year-old Travon Jones had been texting his ex-girlfriend throughout the evening before knocking on the door of her apartment. Police said the woman ignored the knock and that's when Jones tried enter through the front door.
The woman told police she heard a noise and saw a window opening and Jones standing outside.
Authorities said the woman told them that Jones put a gun inside of the window and fired a shot into the living room wall. The woman said she fled, and Jones fired a second shot into the wall about three feet to her right. A friend of the woman's came downstairs about the time of the second was fired.
A person living in the complex says he hopes Jones is caught soon.
"That is a little a jarring, that is worrisome, especially because there are families and kids that play around there and you never know what will happen," said Corey McDaniel.
Jones is charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
