Rainy end to the weekend

(WSIL) -- Showers have returned and look to make for a wet start to the work week.

Showers ahead of a cold front set to arrive later Sunday evening, have already wet the pavement across much of the area Sunday morning. More rain is expected to develop throughout the day, with the best chance for widespread rainfall expected late Sunday night into Monday.

Expect Sunday to be a bit cooler as we won't see much sun, and winds will be shifting to a more northerly direction by this evening. This also sets up Monday as a cooler than average day, before a forecast warm up through the middle to end of this week.

I'll be explaining how much rain we can expect, and tracking the chance for thunderstorms, this morning on News 3.
