Detective solving child-predator cases from Jefferson County

MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (WSIL) -- A detective with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has worked a number of cases involving child-predator abuse across the region and world.

Detective Bobby Wallace works within the sheriff's office and for taskforces such as, the Internet Crimes Against Children, which consists of investigators from all over the globe who are working toward stopping the exploitation of children.

Wallace said over the last four years, he has investigated numerous Illinois cases.

"I've done approximately 20 cases here in Jefferson County, 7 in Marion County, three in Wayne County, two in Washington County, two in Lawrence County and six in White County," said Detective Wallace.

Wallace said depending on the severity of the case, charges can go all the way up to a Class-X felony.
