HERRIN (WSIL) -- 100 families will have a Thanksgiving meal this year, thanks to two Herrin businesses.
Bryan Furniture teamed up with Louie's P&R on Friday, to give away 100 uncooked meals.
All folks had to do was pick up a voucher at Bryan Furniture, and take it to Louie's where they're keeping the food.
The business owners said they felt fortunate to still be in business through the pandemic, and wanted to make sure that others could give thanks over a meal this year.
"Our business during this COVID pandemic has been doing good. This area, Herrin, and the whole surrounding region has been supporting Louie's P&R. We have been busy throughout everything, and we just felt like we needed to give back to the community," says Louie's owner, Julie Christ.
The meals included a ten to twelve pound turkey, stove top stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, and green beans.
