CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- It's been a dreary and soggy start to the weekend with more rain expected tonight and Sunday.
An area of low pressure and associated cold front will continue to make it's way through the region tonight ramping up the rain chances.
The chance for showers will increase overnight and linger into Sunday morning. If you're heading out early tomorrow you'll want to grab an umbrella. However, as the system exits the area dry weather is expected by the afternoon.
High temperatures Sunday are expected to top out near 50 with breezy conditions. Mostly cloudy skies will stick around after the rain moves out with winds out of the northwest.
We will see a small break in the rain before they ramp back up by mid week. Meteorologist Jacie Brianne will let you know what to expect ahead of the holiday tonight on News 3.
