Two additional residents in Saline County pass away from COVID-19 complications

(WSIL) -- Health departments in southern Illinois are reporting 135 new cases of the virus on Saturday, November 21. Health officials are also saddened to confirm that two additional Saline County residents and a Jackson county resident have passed away.

Franklin County: 25

  • Females: Two teenagers’, five in their 20’s, one in their 30’s, two in their 40’s, one in their 50’s and four in their 60’s.
  • Males: one under ten, one teenager, three in their 20’s, one in their 30’s, one in their 40’s, one in their 50’s and two in their 60’s.

To date, there have been 1,863 laboratory confirmed positives in Franklin county of COVID-19, including 19 deaths. Of these positive cases, 899 have recovered.

Gallatin County: 2

  • Female: One in their 20’s
  • Male: One in their 30’s

Gallatin County has a total of 201 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including two deaths.

Jackson County: 34

  • Female: Two under ten, eight in their 20's, five in their 30's, one in her 40's, five in their 50's, four in their 60's, and two in their 70's.
  • Male: One teen, three in their 20's, one in his 30's, and two in their 40's.

The health department announced the COVID-related death of a male in his eighties. It said, "His death hits particularly close to home for the JCHD family. Our thoughts go out to his loved ones."

This man marks the 31st resident in the county to pass away.

Health officials are currently monitoring 414 active cases. To date, there's been 2,439. Of these positive cases, 1,994 individuals released from isolation, including 32 Saturday.

Saline County: 15

  • Female: One under the age of 10, one in their teens, one in their 30’s, one in their 40’s, two in their 50’s, one in their 60’s, one in their 80’s
  • Male: One in their teens, two in their 30’s, three in their 50’s, one in their 60’

The Egyptian Health Department has been notified of two Saline County residents who have passed due to complications of Coronavirus. These additional deaths bring the county to 22 lives lost.

To date, Saline County has had a total of 1,112 lab confirmed positives.

White County: 5

  • Female: One in their 50’s, one in their 60’s
  • Male: One in their teens, one in their 30’s, one in their 40’s

Williamson County: 54

  • Females: Two teenagers, four in their 20’s, five in their 30’s, five in their 40’s, five in their 50’s, five in their 60’s, one in their 70’s, three in their 80’s and three in their 90’s.
  • Males: Three teenagers, one in their 20’s, one in their 30’s, four in their 40’s, three in their 50’s, four in their 60’s and five in their 70’s.

To date, there have been a total of 3,216 laboratory confirmed positives in Williamson county, including 74 deaths. Of these positive cases, 1,662 have recovered.

Illinois Department of Public Health:

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported 11,891 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease Saturday, including 127 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 646,286 cases, including 11,430 deaths across the state.
