NATO chief calls for justice over US Capitol mob siege

BRUSSELS (AP) — The head of NATO says all those responsible for last week’s deadly siege at the U.S. Capitol should be held accountable. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told reporters in Brussels on Thursday he’s confident American institutions are up to the job of ensuring justice is done. The storming of the Capitol as lawmakers were certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s election victory resulted in the deaths of 5 people. and President Donald Trump’s impeachment for inciting the mob violence. Stoltenberg did not mention Trump by name, focusing instead on the incoming administration. The former prime minister of Norway described Biden as “”strongly committed to our trans-Atlantic cooperation, to NATO.”
