WSIL -- A little snow is possible this afternoon!
Some early morning sunshine is expected, but it will be short-lived. Temperatures are running just above freezing, but the breeze from the southwest will make it feel even colder as you head out to begin your day.
Precipitation is expected to move in around lunchtime from the north and west. Initially, rain will likely mix with snow over parts of southern Illinois, but as temperatures slip back a few degrees, a switch over to mostly snow is likely.
While this is NOT a big winter storm for our region, there is a chance for a few heavier pockets of snow that could briefly reduce visibility and lead to minor snow accumulation on roads.
Temperatures are likely to be running just above freezing throughout much of the afternoon and evening, so main roads are likely to stay mostly wet.
