MARION (WSIL) -- Meet Iris, a one-year-old cat looking for her 'Furever Home'.

"She came in with her three kittens just last week. They were found as strays. A nice woman found them and she had been taking care of them until she had an appointment to bring them to us," says Becca Baird, Director of Finding Forever Animal Rescue.

Iris is currently the only adult at the shelter after several others went home last week.

"The first few days with us she was very shy. She hid most of the time and now she's kind of coming out of her shell so very talkative, very lovey. She wants attention," explains Baird.

Baird says she thinks Iris will fit in to any home. "We did have other cats in here last week and she did just fine with them so she'd do great in another cat household. Because of her age we think she'd do really well with dogs as well."

While Iris still has some room to grow Baird says she's a fairly small cat. "She's itty bitty. She might get a little bit bigger. She's definitely a tiny bit skinny still. We've already started her on vaccinations and dewormers and she's been spay and microchipped but I just think she's going to be a little girl."

Even though Iris was a bit shy in the begininng her favorite thing is to be around people.

"This is about it. Get love and attention. As you could hear earlier she will chirp and meow at you if you're not paying attention to her but she likes belly rubs. She likes attention. She'll follow you around. If you call her she'll come to you. She's very attentive with people," adds Baird.
