CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- It's all about the dogs and no cats in this edition of Pets of the Week.
Korey and her sister, Delilah, were brought into PAWS Place together and are believed to be born in mid-April of 2020. Korey is full of life and life and loves to run and play. She weighs about 23 pounds and is good with older children but not with youngsters under 10-years-old. Her adoption fee at the shelter in Anna is $250.
Jake and Jill are a bonded pair who are 6-year-old Labrador Retriever mixes. Both are shy and timid and have been together their entire lives, so they will need to stay together. This duet needs an adopter who is willing to go into the shelter and spend some time with them before taking them home. Jake and Jill's adoption fee at Saint Francis CARE in Murphysboro is $125, and that includes their spay, neuter, vaccines, and microchip.
Izzy is still looking for a family to love. This gorgeous girl is sweet, loves belly rubs, and needs to be the only pet in the house. Friends of Franklin County Animal Control in Benton will help with the vetting and adoption costs.
Bento is a 1-year-old Heeler Shepherd-mix who is always ready to have a good time. This big ol' boy has the sweetest, softest look in his eyes.
He has only been at the Humane Society of Southern Illinois for a few weeks, but he has stolen many of their hearts at the shelter in Murphysboro.
Harley is a whole lot of dog, a lot of fun, and a lot of energy. He is 1 to 2 years old and weighs 65 pounds. Harley is as strong as an ox and needs to be in an active family with a strong leader. He is affectionate and knows when to sit, including for treats, at the door and before dinner. He's an eager learner who would love to learn more. Harley is also great in the car, loves water, and knows the rules about pottying. It's important to note, he is dog-selective and does not prefer the company of cats. He would most likely be okay with kids who are a little older because of his size. Due to his energy level, the shelter recommends a fenced-in yard as well as a few meet-and-greets before adoption. He is up for adoption at the Perry County Humane Society.
