MARION, ILLINOIS (WSIL) -- During these cold winter months, many families and neighbors who are in need could use a warm meal.

To help, scouts with troops 7021 and 7024 are holding the Love your Neighbor food drive, which will stock the shelves of local pantries.

Scouts are asking community members to go to the grocery store or clear their cupboards of canned goods or other non-perishable items like rice, pasta and oatmeal.

Once those items are bagged in the trunk or backseat, there are three drive-thru locations where they can be dropped off.

Those include the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Zion United Church of Christ or the Marion Ministerial Alliance.

It's a contact-free event and scouts will simply get the grocery bags out of the car while drivers remain seated.

The food drive will take place on Saturday, February 20th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Financial donations can also be made directly to the Marion Ministerial Alliance.
