Only two southern Illinois counties report virus cases

(WSIL) -- Jackson County and the Egyptian Health department are reporting new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, February 21, 2021.

Jackson County:

  • Females: Three in their 20's and one in her 80's

Health officials are currently monitoring 67 active cases. Jackson County has had 4,613 cases to date, with 68 related deaths. Of those cases 4,417 individuals released from isolation, including 7 Sunday.

Saline County:

  • Male: 1 in their teens, 1 in their 20’s

To date, Saline County has had a total of 2,424 lab confirmed positives, including 45 deaths.

Illinois Department of Public Health:

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,585 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease Sunday, including 35 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,174,409 cases, including 20,269 deaths across the state.

A total of 2,151,952 vaccines have been administered.
